Hey Sailors,
It’s that happy time of the year again, when a new group of officers is railroaded…..er, elected. We all say thank you to the out going slate, Adam, Marie, Scooter (Michelle) & Mike. Please make sure you show them your appreciation for last year’s efforts.
Rob & I would like to let you know that we are excited to be in the Co-Commodore position and will make every effort for this to be one of 204’s best seasons.
That being said, one of our focuses will be on bringing in new sailors. Someone had to get you interested, right? Someone took you sailing when you had no idea about how addicting our sport can be? We are going to ask you to make an effort to bring one new person out sailing every two weeks. This does not mean you have to bring them racing right off the bat, just get them on the water. We all love our boats, sailing them and talking sailing. Get someone new involved!!!! It is not that hard, just do it!
We are also going to bring back the “Chalk Talk” after Fleet meetings. I have always thought that a sailing club meeting should have SOMETHING sailing related at it. So this month Adam Atherton has volunteered to start a spirited discussion on Leeward mark/gate-approaches & exits. So be ready with some questions to stump Adam. If there is any subject that you would like to use as a Chalk Talk or you would like to volunteer to head one up, please let us know.
Last but not least, please start thinking about what outing committee that you can help with. Let’s hope we have great weather (LOTS of wind!!!) at Ched Mardo this year.
Point High & Foot Fast!!!!
